Is there a separate exam fee for all three levels of the program?

The Program fee is divided into a one-time program enrolment fee and separate registration fees for the three levels. For the Level I exam, the candidate needs to pay one-time program enrolment fees of USD 450 apart from the Registration fees. The Registration fee for all the levels is as follows:

As compared to CA, how are concepts different in the CFA® Program?

In order to practise as a chartered accountant, one needs CA as a mandatory qualification in India. As part of CA studies, students learn Auditing, Accountancy, and Taxation. The CFA^®Program, however, makes you eligible to work in any part of the world and the focus area of the Program is Investment Banking, Investment Advisory Services etc.

What is the difference between the CFA® Program and CIMA?

The CFA^® Program is focused on concepts related to core finance subjects like Investment Banking, Financial Instruments and its management for institutional investors. The program emphasizes on the analysis and research side as compared to accounting.

On the contrary, CIMA focuses on core accounting from the perspective of its use for the management.

Is the CFA® Program relevant for an Engineer?

It depends on a lot of factors and the engineer’s interests. After engineering, if you wish to get into the field of Finance, you will need an MBA degree from a reputed B School. Without this, it is often tough for engineers to switch to the finance field. However, the CFA^® Program makes it possible for engineers to switch into the field of finance and investments without an MBA also.
